Following the news, the 25-year-old tennis player is expected to cancel her participation in the tournament. In addition, she has already been excluded from the training schedule in Florida, while her name has been removed from the list of participants in the competition, both on the official website and on social networks. For the moment, neither the organizers nor the player have made any comments on this subject.

The retired player worked as an assistant coach at Russian club Salavat Yulaev, which belongs to the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). The team itself released a statement regretting what happened and sending condolences to his family and loved ones. “It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the death of Salavat Yulaev coach Konstantin Koltsov. He was a strong and happy person, he was loved and respected by players, teammates and fans. Konstantin Evgenievich forever entered the history of our club. May he rest in peace.”

He represented the Belarusian team in at least 67 international matches, where he managed to score 21 goals and provide 16 assists. He also managed to participate in the Winter Olympics in their 2002 and 2010 editions.

During his playing career, he was part of various teams, such as Novokuznetsk Metallurg, Ak Bars, Spartak and even the Pittsburgh Penguins, where he made the jump to the National Hockey League (NHL ) in the USA. With the Pennsylvania team he completed four seasons, during which he played 144 matches, scoring 12 goals and distributing 26 assists.

After his retirement as a player in 2016 while representing Dynamo Minsk, Russian Salavat Yulaev hired him as an assistant coach. During his stay, he managed to win the Russian championship and the Cagarin Cup.
