Former Romanian world number one Simona Halep lost her first match after returning to the WTA tour.
Previously, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) partially upheld Halep’s appeal and reduced his suspension for anti-doping rule violations from four years to nine months. This allowed Halep to participate in the WTA 1000 tournament, which takes place in Miami.
