Russian tennis player Maria Timofeeva reached the second round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami.
In the first round, the 20-year-old Russian defeated the French representative Varvara Gracheva – 6:3, 6:3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 20 minutes.
Gracheva previously represented Russia; since June 2023, the athlete has been competing under the French flag.
In Miami, world number 99 Timofeeva’s next opponent will be Czech Linda Noskova.
