The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) has canceled all tournaments scheduled for the rest of the season in China due to coronavirus restrictions. This was reported by the press service of the organization.
Instead of Chinese competitions, six new tournaments will take place, the organizers of which have received licenses for one year. Competitions are planned in Naples (Italy), Gijon (Spain), Florence (Italy), Tel Aviv (Israel), Seoul (South Korea) and San Diego (USA).
“As a global sport, we continue to deal with the impact of the pandemic. Event cancellations are a sad reality and we wish the best to our affected tournament participants and fans,” said the head of the ATP, Andrea Gaudenzi.
All other events for the remainder of the ATP Tour season will go ahead as scheduled.
