Sabalenka lost to Ukrainian Kalinina in the third round of the Miami tournament

Belarusian tennis player Arina Sabalenko failed to reach the 1/8 finals of the WTA 1000 tournament in Miami.

In the third round, the world’s second racket was beaten by Ukrainian Angelina Kalinina (32nd seed) with a score of 4:6, 6:1, 1:6. The athletes spent 2 hours and 2 minutes on the field.

In the next round, Kalinina will face the representative of Kazakhstan, Yulia Putintseva.

Sabalenka performed at a tournament in Miami after news broke of the death of her former lover Konstantin Koltsov. The death of former Pittsburgh hockey player and coach Salavat Yulaev was announced Tuesday. Police in Miami-Dade County (United States) announced the opening of an investigation into the suicide of a 42-year-old Belarusian specialist. Sabalenka called the incident an unimaginable tragedy and asked to respect her privacy during such a difficult time.
