Athletistic / Tennis. Russian tennis player Elina Avanesyan (65th racket in the world) failed to cross the barrier in the third round of the WTA-1000 tournament in Miami (USA). In her third match of the tournament, she lost to American Danielle Collins (world number 53).
The match lasted 1 hour 11 minutes and ended with Collins’ victory with a score of 6:1, 6:2. The American has three consecutive serves, five double faults and 5 breaks out of 10 break points. Avanesyan did not make a single ace, made four errors on his serve and managed to convert one break point out of four possible.
In the next round (1/8 final) of the tournament in Miami, Daniel Collins will meet the Romanian Sorana Cirstei, who beat another Russian Daria Kasatkina the day before.
The Miami tournament will end on March 30. The current winner of the competition is the Czech Petra Kvitova.
