The Polish tennis player will play with the Ukrainian in the 1/16 finals of the WTA tournament in Charleston
Polish tennis player Magda Linette commented on a future meeting with a Ukrainian Dayana Yastremskaya in the second round of the WTA tournament in Charleston.
“It will be hard. She has always been such a dangerous player because her tennis is very powerful. She has good technique. So I will have to be very patient and play smart. I’ve already played against her several times and haven’t won any of those matches, so I have nothing to lose. And I’m also good at acting.
Still, I have this first win on clay, so I’m going to take some confidence from it. But, of course, Yastremskaya is playing very well this year. She showed it in Australia and I know it will be a difficult match. But I’ve watched her several times, so I’m ready,” Lynette said.
In the first round match, Linette confidently beat Croatian Petra Martic – 2:0 (6:3, 6:4). The meeting with Yastremska will take place for the 4th start on the Althea Gibson Court after the Kruger-Lee match. The approximate start time of the match is at 22:30 Kyiv time.
