The final tournament of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) will be held in Riyadh (Saudi Arabia) from 2024 to 2026, according to the official WTA website.
“Hosting the WTA Finals in Riyadh is an exciting new opportunity for us and a positive step for the long-term development of women’s tennis as a global and inclusive sport.” “We have been impressed by the Saudi Tennis Federation’s commitment to growing the sport at all levels, and we are confident that players and fans will look forward to hosting a world-class competition in Riyadh,” said Steve Simon, CEO of the WTA.
It is noted that the agreement with the Saudi Tennis Federation will provide a record prize pool of $15.25 million at the WTA Finals in 2024, with further increases in 2025 and 2026.
In 2024, the Final Tournament will be held from November 2 to 9. The current winner is world number one, Poland’s Iga Szwiatek, who won the tournament in Cancun, Mexico, in 2023.
