Nadal says he will miss Monte Carlo Masters

Spaniard, multiple Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal announced that he was refusing to participate in the Masters Series tournament in Monte Carlo due to health problems.

The tournament will take place from April 7 to 14. Nadal has won 10 times in Monte Carlo in singles.

— Unfortunately, I have to announce that I will not play in Monte-Carlo. My body just won’t let me. And although I continue to work and do my best every day in the hope of being able to participate in the tournaments that were very important to me, the reality is that today I cannot achieve that.

You can’t even imagine how hard it is for me to no longer have the opportunity to participate in these tournaments. The only thing I can do now is accept the situation and try to look to the future, while maintaining the passion and desire to play,” the 37-year-old Spaniard wrote on a social network.

Nadal last took to the court in January at a tournament in Brisbane (Australia).
