Athletistic / Tennis. The fourth racket in the world, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev, spoke of the disqualification of his compatriot Andrei Rublev (6th number in the ATP ranking) due to arguments with the referee during the semi-finals of the tournament in Dubai (UAE).
“This point was discussed a lot with different tennis players – the story was big. In my opinion, in a sense, there was not a single good side, since Andrei himself knows that it is not really worth no need to yell at the judge. If he was not disqualified, then it turns out that everyone will be able to do it, although, in principle, sometimes almost everyone does it.
On the other hand, there was one extremely incomprehensible thing about this situation. One man approached another and said, “I heard something over there,” which was a lie. It turns out that any referee can do this and disqualify a player for not speaking. But disqualification is a serious matter. This usually leads to automatic withdrawal of ranking points and loss of money,” Medvedev was quoted as saying by Sport-Express.
Andrey Rublev was suspended from further competition during the deciding set of the semi-final of the Dubai tournament with Alexander Bublik of Kazakhstan. The Russian, at the very end of the deciding set with the score 5:6, insulted the linesman. It was not the tower judge who drew attention to the Russian’s offensive remarks, but another linesman who knew Russian. As a result, Rublev was disqualified. Note that Bublik actually told the referee that he was ready to continue the match with Rublev.
