The first racket of Ukraine said that a representative of another sport inspired him to more achievements.
Elina Svitolina spoke about famous compatriots who perform in the sports arena. According to him, Usyk, Zinchenko and Mudryk are now the most famous abroad and attract public attention to the problems in Ukraine.
In addition, the first racket of Ukraine spoke about his childhood sports idol. Oddly enough, the tennis player was inspired by the new achievements of a representative of a completely different kind of boxing.
“I think it’s our spirit that we have. I talked several times with Wladimir Klitschko.
It’s about always giving your best. Showing up is not an option. When I was young, Vladimir inspired me a lot. I always try to find this inspiration in our people.
We have many top athletes now. It is Usik, and Zinchenko, and Mudryk, and many strong athletes who also fight for our country, which attract attention here, because every day there are many events around the world, and it is not easy to do.
But for us, since we are from Ukraine, we take it to heart. I feel that we have this indestructible spirit, as Ukrainians who are now going through very difficult times at home every day.
I feel that this is what really binds us, binds us for a dream, that one day we will return to Ukraine and be safe there, we will bring our children back to Ukraine and they will enjoy their time there. That’s why we all stick together to win,” Svitolina said in an interview with Action Sports Jax.
Note that Svitolina will play for the Ukrainian national team against Romania in qualifying for the final of the Billie Jean King Cup. The matches will take place on April 12-13.
We remind you that earlier a Ukrainian tennis player told how he almost died because of his hobby.
