The prize was awarded to Anastasia for having won the competition of the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo (Japan) in tennis in mixed doubles. In the final, the Russian, paired with Andrei Rublev, defeated other representatives of the Russian team – Aslan Karatsev and Elena Vesnina.
– It is an honor for me to present the Order of Friendship to our Olympic champion Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. We were all worried about his performance at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and in Tokyo, together with Andrey Rublev, they created a real miracle, writing their names in the history of world tennis. It is doubly pleasant that Anastasia graduated from the Russian Sports University “GTSOLIFK” and adequately represents the country and her alma mater at international tournaments,” Matytsin said.
