Russian Tursunov will prepare Britain’s Radukana to defend her title at the US Open

The current US Open British champion Emma Radukanu will prepare for the title defense in the United States under the guidance of a Russian coach Dmitry Tursunov reports the Daily Mail.

The 39-year-old is expected to accompany Radukana at the tournament in Washington, which takes place from August 1-7. In the event of a successful performance, Tursunov will remain in the team of the 10th racket in the world.

Previously, Tursunov worked with Estonian Anette Kontaveit and Arina Sobolenko from Belarus. He is the winner of seven ATP singles tournaments and in 2006 was the 20th racket in the world.

Radukanou, 19, is ranked 10th in the WTA rankings. In the 2021 US Open final, she beat Leyla Fernandez (6:4, 6:3) from Canada in straight sets.

The 2022 US Open starts on August 29.
