Polish tennis player Iga Swiętek became the winner of the WTA 1000 tournament in Madrid.
In the final match, the world’s first racket Shwiatek defeated the Belarusian Arina Sabalenko , ranked second in the WTA rankings, with a score of 7:5, 4:6, 7:6 (9:7). The meeting lasted 3 hours 11 minutes.
Szwiatek played in the tournament final in the Spanish capital against Sabalenka for the second time in a row. Last year the tournament was won by a Belarusian.
For Szwiatek, 22, this WTA title was the third of the season and the 20th of her singles career. Sabalenka, 25, has 14 victories in WTA tournaments.
