Diego Schwartzman’s emotional letter

Schwartzman He created a chronology of his career with photos from his first steps in the activity to his best moments with Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

What a trip! Some moments I never imagined, some anecdotes I never dreamed of, some people I met who helped me grow, who taught me so much, who made me a better player and person than anyone believed me to be. I will include myself.

Every corner of the court, every second of practice, every point contested, every moment I had so much fun. I lived with such intensity that now it is difficult for me to maintain. All the good moments have become something that now carries a weight and it is difficult for me to continue it completely.. On the one hand, leaving a life that has given me so much is a very difficult decision, but on the other hand, how much I enjoy playing tennis pushes me to continue wanting to keep smiling inside and off the court as I always do. However, now that smile is sometimes hard for me to find. Inside, a competitive animal prevents me from having fun, playing and traveling like I used to. I want my final contests to be my own decision. May 2024 be like that, I hope to have the opportunity to compete in the tournaments that I enjoy the most. And in 2025, in Argentina, I will be able to have my last moment, the best closure I can imagine.

To my coaches, physical trainers, physios, Luchito Spena, my rivals, teammates. To my friends that I love you

My brothers and my parents who since I flew so high fulfilling dreams as a family, and without you nothing would happen, Euge who is the best companion I could have in life and Pico who has been a great Guide since I can remember in my career.

Thank you! Thank you from my heart.

Tennis has given me everything I have and much more that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. This is an amazing journey and you are an important part of it. That’s why I want to convey it here and thank you because “El Peque” is a living giant.

Ball, what can I tell you to close…? You make me run a lot, laugh, cry, travel and know. You have given me so much and it is time to move on to another phase.

See you soon tennis, to continue sweating until the last drop and working as a professional until the last point I have to play on a court, El Peque“, reads the writing.
