The Ukrainian lost to Katie Volynets from the USA in a tense match
Ukrainian tennis player Yulia Starodubtseva lost in the final qualifying tournament WTA 1000 in the capital of Italy Rome.
Julia met with American Katie Volynets. The difficult three-set match lasted more than two and a half hours.
Starodubtseva won the first game and then lost the next one. In the deciding set, the Ukrainian lost 1:5, after which she managed to return two breaks, reducing the gap. But she couldn’t hold her serve any further, losing the match.
Let us remind you that five Ukrainians are entered in the main draw of the tournament in Rome: Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, Angelina Kalinina and Lesya Tsurenko. Lesya will play in the first round with Donna Vekic from Croatia, and if successful, she will then meet with Kalinina.
