The Ukrainian defeated the “neutral” tennis player Melnikova
Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Beindl reached the second round of the main draw of the tournament ITF W75 in the capital of the Czech Republic Prague.
In the 1/16 finals match, our compatriot turned out to be stronger than her “neutral” opponent Marina Melnikova. The two-set match lasted 2 hours and 12 minutes.
In the first game, Katerina managed a powerful comeback. She lost with a score of 0:3, after which she managed to take six games in a row. In the decisive rally, she only managed to convert the set point on her fifth attempt.
In the second set, Melnikova was already in the role of catching up. Beindl led 2:0, 3:1, 4:2, 5:3 and 6:5, but still the matter ended in a tiebreaker. There Melnikova missed a set point twice, after which the Ukrainian snatched victory – 9:7.
