Ilya managed to break a five-game losing streak
Ukrainian tennis player Ilya Marchenko won his first victory in more than a month. This happened at the start of the main draw of the tournament. ATP Challenger 75 V Taipei.
The Ukrainian’s opponent in the first round was Japanese Hiroki Moriya. The two-set match lasted one hour and 48 minutes.
In the first game, Marchenko dealt with his opponent quite confidently – 6:3. In the second set there was a lot of sweat – Ilya fought back from scores of 0:2 and 1:3, and in the end it came to a tiebreaker, where the Ukrainian prevailed – 7:4.
For Marchenko, this victory was the first since April 10. Ilya managed to break a five-game losing streak.
The Ukrainian’s opponent in the second round will be “neutral” tennis player Evgeniy Donskoy.
