Rafa: I remember our first match very well. But Federer, probably not.

Roger: Yes, I don’t remember. Did I show you respect?

Nadal: You were a little arrogant at the time.

The first meeting of the future legends of world sports took place on March 28, 2004 at the Masters Series tournament in Miami (Florida, USA). In the third round, Nadal won a sensational straight sets victory with a score of 6:3, 6:3.

In total, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have met on court 40 times in singles matches. The Spaniard has won 24 matches, while the Swiss has won 16 matches.

Roger Federer has officially retired from sports. Rafael Nadal has suffered from constant injuries over the past two seasons.
