Polish tennis player Iga Swiętek won the WTA 1000 tournament in Rome.
In the final, the first racket in the world Shwiatek beat the Belarusian Arina Sabalenko , ranked second in the WTA rankings, with a score of 6:2, 6:3. The meeting lasted 1 hour 29 minutes.
Sabalenka suffered a second consecutive defeat against Szwiatek in the final matches of the WTA 1000 tournament. Earlier in May, the Belarusian lost to Szwiatek in the deciding match of the Madrid tournament.
For Szwiatek, 22, this WTA title was the fourth of the season and the 21st of her singles career. Sabalenka, 25, has 14 victories in WTA tournaments.
