Former Italian tennis player Camila Giorgi who retired in May, is accused of stealing furniture and carpets from a rented villa in Florence, reports Corriere della Sera.
According to the publication, the athlete and his family did not pay rent for six months and also took away Persian rugs and antique furniture. The damage is estimated between 50 and 100 thousand euros.
“Not only did they leave without telling anyone, but they also didn’t pay six months’ rent and took half of the furniture. The house was missing carpets and furniture, even an antique table weighing 0.5 tonnes, the villa owner said.
Previously, the media reported that Georgie could retire from the sport at 32 due to problems with the tax service.
Georgie won four WTA singles tournaments during her career, with her highest position being 26th.
