The Ukrainian beat eighth seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in three sets
Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina advanced to the second round of the tournament WTA 500 in French Strasbourg.
Angelina met with the “neutral” athlete Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the first round. The match with the eighth racket of the tournament lasted two hours and 49 minutes.
Kalinina won the first set in a strong-willed style, returning the break and taking four games in a row. The second game remained with Pavlyuchenkova. There was a tense fight in the decisive set; the Ukrainian was able to win a match point on a return.
In the second round, Kalinina will meet the winner of the match between Fiona Ferro from France and the qualifier. Later, another Ukrainian, Elina Svitolina, will take to the court in Strasbourg. The first racket of Ukraine will play with Diane Parry from France.
