Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Beindl eliminated in the first round of qualifying French Open (Roland Garros).
In the first qualifying round, the Ukrainian was unable to overcome the resistance of Argentine Solana Sierra, despite easily winning the first set – 6:1. In the second game, Katerina was losing 0:3, but managed to equalize the score (4:4), but she did not have enough strength for a more impressive revenge.
In the decisive game, Sierra was stronger, having made three break points.
Earlier, Ukrainian Vitaly Sachko managed to fly out of the Roland Garros qualification. Later, Daria Snigur, Yulia Starodubtseva and Katarina Zavatskaya will play their qualifying matches in the women’s tournament.
Let us remind you that five Ukrainians entered the main draw of Roland Garros. The first racket of Ukraine, Elina Svitolina, who received the 17th tournament number, will perform at the Grand Slam clay tournament. Also on the application list are Marta Kostyuk (No. 26), Angelina Kalinina (No. 32), Dayana Yastremskaya (No. 33) and Lesya Tsurenko (No. 41).
In the updated WTA rankings, Katerina Beindl rose two positions and now ranks 169th (eighth among Ukrainian representatives).
