Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal said he hoped to compete in the Paris Olympics.
On Monday, the Spaniard lost to world number four German Alexander Zverev in the first round of the French Open – 3:6, 6:7 (5:7), 3:6.
— The last two seasons have been difficult for me in terms of injuries. I went through all that with the dream of returning to Roland Garros. I was competitive [сегодня], I had my chances, but it wasn’t enough. I have several goals. I hope to return to this field at the Olympic Games. This motivates me. I really hope that I will be well prepared,” Nadal said after the match.
Nadal is 37 years old and a 14-time winner of Roland Garros.
The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11.
