The 50-year-old tennis player from San Marino has become the first player in history to reach 100 Davis Cup appearances.

San Marino representative Domenico Vicini became the first player in Davis Cup history to play 100 matches.

The San Marino player, who turns 51 in September, played a doubles match with 17-year-old Simone De Luigi against Iceland in the European Group 4 match.

“It’s a big achievement for me. It was a long journey, but from the start I was able to go to many places and see so many things,” Vicini said.

Three years ago, Vicini set the Davis Cup record as the oldest player to win a singles match. Then the tennis player was 47 years and 318 days old.

Vicini made his Davis Cup debut with San Marino in 1993.
