Earlier, Wimbledon management banned Russians and Belarusians from playing at the London tournament in June.
“I think it is absolutely right to withdraw the Russian team from team tournaments, like the Davis Cup or the World Cup. These measures are directed against Russia, that can be understood. On the other hand , I see no reason why individual tennis players should not play at Wimbledon”, quotes Zverev Tagesschau.
Note that the ATP and WTA Board of Directors have condemned the actions of Wimbledon management.
