We learned which tennis player received the biggest fine at Roland Garros

French tennis player Terence Atman received the biggest fine of Roland-Garros, reports L’Equipe.

According to the publication, Atman was fined 23,000 euros for his behavior during the first round match, in which he lost to Austrian Sebastian Ofner. In the fourth set, after losing a point, the Frenchman, out of emotion, sent the ball into the stands and hit a woman with it.

Atman will forfeit nearly a third of the prize money won at Roland Garros to pay the fine.

Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas was fined a total of 21.2 thousand dollars during the tournament for tips from his father and coach Apostolos Tsitsipas. Organizers fined Tsitsipas twice for coaching during his doubles matches with his brother Petros, and once during his singles quarterfinals with Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz.

Coaching on tour is currently authorized, but it is specified that certain limits cannot be exceeded: speaking for too long, speaking to a tennis player while he is on the other side of the court, or speaking from a location not allowed in the stands.

The Roland Garros men’s singles final will take place on Sunday, featuring Alcaraz and Germany’s Alexander Zverev. The women’s event was won by Poland’s Iga Szwiatek, who beat Italy’s Jasmine Paolini in straight sets.
