Katarina performed together with American Varvara Lepchenko. In the quarterfinals, the pair faced second seeds Katarzyna Piter from Poland and Fanny Stollar from Hungary.
In the first set, Zavatskaya and Lepchenko led with a break, but then lost four games in a row. In the second game, the Ukrainian and American lost two of their serves and lost the match.
Zavatskaya previously completed her performances in the singles tournament in Valencia. The Ukrainian lost to seventh seeded Marina Bassols from Spain in the first round.
