The NOC of Ukraine is also awaiting confirmation of the second Ukrainian pair at the Games in Paris
Angelina Kalinina became the fourth tennis player from Ukraine in women’s singles Olympics 2024 in Paris.
The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has approved a request from the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Ukraine to provide a license for the Kalinina Games. We would like to remind you that Marta Kostyuk, Elina Svitolina and Dayana Yastremskaya previously confirmed their participation in the Olympics in Paris.
Kalinina is ranked 47th in the updated WTA rankings, and was in 46th place at the time of the final Olympic applications. Angelina was unable to receive an automatic invitation to the Games, having not reached the quota for matches for the national team.
The NOC of Ukraine is also awaiting approval from the ITF to field a second duet from Ukraine. Sisters Nadezhda and Lyudmila Kichenok will represent Ukraine in the doubles competition at the 2024 Olympics.
Let us remind you that the best achievement of Ukrainian tennis players at the Olympics is Elina Svitolina’s bronze medal in Tokyo 2020. Elina, as well as the Kichenok sisters, performed at the Games twice. Lesya Tsurenko and Dayana Yastremskaya have one performance each.
