The Ukrainians beat the duet Ulrikke Eikeri / Ingrid Neil in two sets
Ukrainian tennis players Nadezhda Kichenok And Lyudmila Kichenok reached the quarterfinals of the doubles tournament WTA 500 V Berlin.
The sisters were seeded third at the competition in Germany. In the first round, Lyudmila and Nadezhda beat Norwegian Ulrikke Eikeri and Estonian Ingrid Neil.
In the first game, the Ukrainians missed two set points, after which they managed to win back the set point on their opponents’ serve and win the tiebreaker. In the second set, the sisters gave one serve, but made two breaks, and won the match.
In the next match, Lyudmila and Nadezhda will play against Wang Xin Yu and Zheng Saisai. The Chinese women in the starting circle were Beatriz Haddad Maia and Ingrid Gamarru Martins from Brazil.
Let us remind you that the Kichenok sisters will play in doubles at the 2024 Olympics. Another duet from Ukraine at the Games in Paris is planned to be Marta Kostyuk and Dayana Yastremskaya.
