The Ukrainian gave battle to Sara Errani from the top 100 of the world ranking
Ukrainian tennis player Katarina Zavatskaya failed to reach the quarterfinals of the Challenger WTA 125 series tournament in the Italian city of Gaiba.
In the second round of the event, the Ukrainian gave a good fight to the fourth seed, representative of the top 100 in the world ranking, Sara Errani from Italy. Their confrontation lasted more than two hours.
In the first game, Zavatskaya served for the set at 6:5, but the Italian managed to force the game into a tiebreaker. There, the Ukrainian tennis player led 3:0, but could not maintain the advantage – 4:7.
In the second set, Katarina had to fight back from 1:3 and 2:4, which she successfully handled, leading 5:4. However, Errani improved again and retained the next three games.
