Former British world number one Andy Murray risks missing Wimbledon due to back problems, Sky Sports reports.
On Wednesday, the Briton was unable to finish the second round match of the London tournament against Australian Jordan Thompson due to injury. With a score of 4: 1 in favor of the opponent, Murray refused to continue the fight; during the match, he took a medical timeout. Murray, 37, will undergo a medical “procedure” on Saturday.
“I don’t think I need to go into detail, but Andy has some decisions to make.” He is disappointed that this could be his last Wimbledon and his last Olympics and it is possible that he will miss them. He has to make several decisions,” said Murray’s brother Jamie, as quoted by the BBC.
Wimbledon 2024 will take place from July 1 to 14.
Murray is a two-time Olympic champion and three-time Grand Slam singles champion.
