Russian Anna Kalinskaya reached the semi-finals of the WTA 500 tennis tournament in Berlin.
In the quarterfinals, Kalinskaya met the third racket in the world Arina Sabalenko . The Belarusian, seeded number two in the tournament, was unable to finish the match and retired with a score of 1:5 in the first set due to a shoulder injury.
Earlier, Kalinskaya reached the quarterfinals thanks to a denial of Czech Marketa Vondrousova, who injured her hip after slipping on the grass during the match.
