American tennis player Corey Gauff backed Russia’s first racket Daria Kasatkina who talked about his non-traditional orientation.
“I think she was really scared to do it. People in Russia aren’t as open about this issue as we are in the United States. I’m just very happy for her and I wish her all the best. I I can only imagine how many people she has inspired. I think that’s why it’s important to talk about these things. So I’m really happy for her. I hope this improves the situation and starts a discussion on the subject in his country, – Gauff is quoted by the official website of the WTA.
In July, Kasatkina, 25, after coming out, showed a joint photo with 2018 Olympic silver medalist in pair skating, Natalya Zabiyako, 27, in which they hug. Kasatkina also added a purple heart emoji.
