Athletistic/Tennis. Former world number one and three-time Grand Slam winner Andy Murray will not play at Wimbledon. The Briton will undergo surgery to remove a spinal cyst.

The injury worsened during the ATP-500 grass court tournament in London. Murray was forced to withdraw from the second round match against Australian Jordan Thompson with the score 1:4 in the first set.

Earlier it became known that Murray underwent a medical examination, the results of which prompted him to decide to undergo surgery. It was confirmed today that the two-time Wimbledon champion will undergo spinal surgery. The time of his recovery is still unknown.

Murray previously hinted that Wimbledon 2024 could be the last of his career.
