Athletistic/Tennis. Vice President of the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) Alexey Selivanenko, in a conversation with SE, commented on Anna Kalinskaya’s defeat to American Jessica Pegula in the final of the WTA 500 series tournament in Berlin – 7:6 (7:0), 4:6, 6:7 (3:7).

“Anna, unfortunately, was unable to take the lead in the final. However, one cannot fail to mention Jessica Pegula, who fought to the end and managed to get out of a seemingly hopeless situation. It’s tennis, it happens,” Selivanenko told SE.

The 25-year-old Russian was unable to use 5 match points in the deciding set. For Kalinskaya, it was the second time in her career that she reached the final of a WTA tournament.
