Daria proved stronger in the Ukrainian confrontation
Ukrainian tennis player Daria Snigur beat her compatriot Katarina Zavatskaya in the qualifying semi-finals Wimbledon 2024.
The match lasted 1 hour and 8 minutes. Daria played the match confidently, giving Katarina only four games in two sets. For access to the main stage of the major, Snigur will fight with the winner of the pair Zeynep Sonmez (Turkey) – Polona Hercog (Slovenia).
Let us remind you that Anastasia Soboleva completed her qualifying performances earlier. But Yulia Starodubtseva advanced to the semifinals of the selection thanks to her victory over Anna Bondar from Hungary.
The Wimbledon 2024 single main draw entry included six Ukrainians: Elina Svitolina, Marta Kostyuk, Dayana Yastremska, Lesya Tsurenko, Angelina Kalinina, as well as Katerina Beindl, who used a “protected rating” for her entry.
The British Grand Slam tournament will take place (in the main draw) from July 1 to 14. In last year’s Wimbledon, the best among Ukrainians was Svitolina, who reached the semifinals.
