The rival pairs who will play in the first round of the Wimbledon women’s singles tournament have been determined.
Russia’s first racket, 14th in the world rankings Daria Kasatkina (14th seed) will face Chinese Zhang Shuai in the first round. Lyudmila Samsonova (15) will meet the Spaniard Rebeca Masarova, Mirra Andreeva (24) – with Czech Brenda Fruhvirtova. Anna Kalinskaya (17 years old) will play against the representative of Hungary Panna Udvardy.
The world number one, the Polish Iga Szwiatek (1), will compete for access to the next round with the American Sofia Kenin, and the third number in the ranking, the Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka, will compete with the American Emina Bektas.
