At the prestigious tennis tournament in Great Britain there were the first losses to the Ukrainians in singles.
Dayana Yastremskaya successfully started her Wimbledon performances. In the first round of the competition, the 28th-seeded Ukrainian confidently defeated Nadia Podoroshka from Argentina.
This is the first meeting between the tennis players, and Yastremskaya has never played with the representatives of Argentina.
In the next round, Yastremskaya will play against French representative Varvara Gracheva from France. The latter prevented the Ukrainian derby from happening in 1/32 of the tournament.
Gracheva left no chance in the opening match for our other representative in the competition, Lesya Tsurenko. The Ukrainian lost in straight sets in just over an hour.
This was the third meeting between the tennis players, and now the Frenchwoman took the lead.
Lesya Tsurenko (Ukraine) – Varvara Gracheva (France) – 3:6, 1:6
