Russian tennis players Daria Kasatkina , Andrei Rublev And Anna Kalinskaya will not perform at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, reports the press service of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Russian athletes refused to participate in the Games in France in neutral status. Kasatkina, Rublev and Kalinskaya received invitations from the IOC.
Earlier, a source of reported that Rublev would miss the Paris Olympics due to medical reasons. Kasatkina will not participate in the Olympics for personal reasons and a desire to earn money. In addition, the president of the Russian Tennis Federation Shamil Tarpishchev told that Kalinskaya will not participate in the Olympics.
The Games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The tennis tournament will be held on clay courts.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced in December 2023 that it would allow Russian athletes who successfully qualified for the 2024 Olympics to have individual neutral status without a national flag, anthem or other symbol.
