Murray withdraws from Wimbledon 2024 singles but will compete in doubles with brother

British tennis player Andy Murray withdrew from singles Wimbledon 2024In the first round match against Tomas Machac, he will be replaced as a lucky loser by David Goffin.

At the same time, Murray will compete in the tournament in doubles; the 37-year-old tennis player will be paired with his brother Jamie.

Andy and Jamie Murray will face John Peers and Rinki Hijikata in the first round of the doubles competition tomorrow, July 3.

Andy Murray is a former world number one and the only two-time Olympic singles champion in history. The Briton won Wimbledon twice, in 2013 and 2016, and also won the US Open title in 2012.

The British Grand Slam tournament runs from July 1 to 14. The reigning Wimbledon men’s singles champion is Carlos Alcaraz, who beat Novak Djokovic in a five-set thriller last year.
