Ukrainian fails to reach second round of challenger in Romania
Ukrainian tennis player Vladislav Orlov in the first round of the tournament in Brasov gave in to the Romanian Radu Mihai Papu.
The first set for Orlov started with a break right away, but the Ukrainian was unable to build on his success. He failed to hold his serve twice and ultimately lost the opening set 3:6.
The second set was absolutely equal, and its fate had to be determined in a tie-break. It was memorable for its multiple mistakes – Orlov and Papu took turns making mini-breaks, but at the decisive moment it was the Ukrainian who was a little luckier.
The decisive third set was also accompanied by mutual mistakes – in the decisive 12th game, Orlov faltered on his serve, and this break allowed the Romanian tennis player to ultimately triumph.
Another Ukrainian, Vitaliy Sachko, has already started in the main draw of the tournament in Brasov, having beaten Nicolas Ionel in two sets. He will play the second round tomorrow, and his opponent will be Bosnian tennis player Nerman Fatic.
