Athletistic / Tennis. The world’s number one racket, Polish player Iga Swiatek, had a successful start at Wimbodon 2024. In the first round, she defeated American Sofia Kenin (49th in the WTA rankings) in two sets with a score of 6:3, 6:4.

This victory made Swiatek the second tennis player in the Open era to win a first-round match at 18 consecutive Grand Slam tournaments in a decade. The first to achieve this figure in the 1910s was another Polish player, Agnieszka Radwańska.

In the second round of Wimbledon, Iga Swiatek will face Croatian Petra Martic. The match will take place on July 4 and the exact start time of the match will be announced later.
