The IOC offered Potapova to participate in the Games in neutral status. Previously, a similar proposal was rejected by five Russian tennis players: Andrey Rublev, Karen Khachanov, Daria Kasatkina, Anna Kalinskaya and Lyudmila Samsonova.
Six Russian tennis players have confirmed their participation in the Paris Olympics: Daniil Medvedev, Pavel Kotov, Roman Safiullin, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider.
The 2024 Olympic Games will take place in France from July 26 to August 11.
