Athletistic/Tennis. Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) President Shamil Tarpishchev admitted that Russian tennis players Aslan Karatsev and Veronika Kudermetova were not allowed to play in neutral status at the Paris Olympics because of the French Foreign Ministry.

Earlier, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) published the lists of participants for the Olympic Games, and seven Russians were on this list. Daniil Medvedev, Roman Safiullin, Pavel Kotov, Ekaterina Alexandrova, Mirra Andreeva and Diana Schneider will perform in singles. Elena Vesnina is also represented in doubles and Alexandrova will be her partner. Andreeva and Schneider, Medvedev and Safiullin will also play in pairs.

Earlier, the FTR published the lineup for the Olympic Games in the French capital. Among them were Medvedev, Safiullin, Kotov, Andreeva, Alexandrova, Schneider, Aslan Karatsev and Veronika Kudermetova. Kudermetova and Karatsev are currently not on the list of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) among the athletes invited to the Olympic Games.

“The composition has been published and differs from ours, but the International Tennis Federation has nothing to do with it. And the International Olympic Committee may not be involved either. The issue is being resolved, in particular, by the French Foreign Ministry. Perhaps there is a problem there. They are not answering us,” Tarpishchev was quoted as saying by TASS.
