Emma gave up only five games to the top-10 representative
21-year-old British tennis player Emma Raducanu made it to the 1/8 finals Wimbledon 2024.
In the third round match, wild card holder Raducanu (No. 135 in the WTA rankings) defeated the world No. 9 in two sets Maria Sakkari from Greece – 6:2, 6:3. The match lasted an hour and a half.
Sakkari made 6 double faults and 31 unforced errors throughout the match. Emma had 3 double faults and 13 unforced errors.
Raducanu repeated her best result (4th round) at Wimbledon. In the 1/8 finals, Emma will play Lulu Sun from New Zealand, who made it to the main draw through qualification, and in the second round beat Ukrainian Yulia Starodubtseva.
Sakkari failed to get past the third round at Wimbledon for the fourth time in her career. She has never reached the last 16 of a grass-court major.
