The Ukrainian and Latvian’s opponents in the second round withdrew from the tournament
Ukrainian Ludmila Kichenok and Latvian Elena Ostapenko reached the third round of the doubles without a fight Wimbledon 2024.
The duo was supposed to meet “neutral” athlete Anna Blinkova and Mayar Sherif from Egypt. The Ukrainian and Latvian’s opponents withdrew from the tournament before the match began.
Let us recall that in the first round, Kichenok and Ostapenko, who received the 9th seeding, defeated Australian Daria Saville and Yuan Yue from China. In the third round, Lyudmila and Elena will play Tereza Mihalikova from Slovakia and British Olivia Nicholls.
In the second round of the doubles, Nadiya Kichenok will play in a duet with Hungarian Timea Babos, and the tandem Marta Kostyuk / Elena-Gabriela Ruse. Ukrainians Angelina Kalinina and Dayana Yastremska finished their performances after the first round.
