World’s No. 1 Schwiatek loses to Moscow native in Wimbledon third round

World number one polka Iga Swietek failed to reach the fourth round of the Wimbledon tournament.

Shventek lost to Yulia Putintseva of Kazakhstan in the third round with a score of 6:3, 1:6, 2:6. The meeting lasted almost two hours.

Putintseva was born in Moscow and represented Russia until 2012. Her next opponent will be Latvian Elena Ostapenko (13th seed).

Ukrainian Elina Svitolina (21 years old) also reached the fourth round by beating Tunisian Ons Jabeur (10 years old) in two sets.
