Athletistic/Tennis. Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, a 24-time Grand Slam winner, has become the sixth tennis player in history to serve more than 1,000 aces at Wimbledon.

Djokovic achieved this feat in the third round match of Wimbledon 2024 against Australian Alexei Popyrin. The match ended with the Serb winning in four sets: 4:6, 6:3, 6:4, 7:6 (7:3).

Earlier, Swiss Roger Federer, Croatians Goran Ivanisevic and Ivo Karlovic, as well as Americans Pete Sampras and John Isner surpassed the 1,000 aces mark at Wimbledon. All these tennis players have already finished their professional careers.

In the 1/8 finals of Wimbledon 2024, Djokovic will meet the world’s 15th racket, the Dane Holger Rune. The Serb leads in personal matches with a score of 3-2.
