The world’s fifth-ranked Russian Daniil Medvedev has become a quarter-finalist at the Wimbledon tournament.
Medvedev met Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov (10th seed) in the fourth round. The Russian lost the first three games, but then won five games in a row, after which Dimitrov refused to continue the fight due to injury. The meeting lasted 40 minutes.
To reach the semi-finals of the tournament, Medvedev will face the world’s number one, Italian Jannik Sinner.
